Bioefficacy of Insecticidal Nematodes against Stored Grain Pests: An Overview
نویسندگان
چکیده
For protection of stored agricultural products in ware house, grain store and food processing factory from insect damage, control measures should be taken. Stored pests are difficult to control. Though chemical insecticides effective controlling pests, other environment friendly methods have been advocated. Entomopathogenic nematodes potential bio agent for management pests. In this review research work done so far has highlighted that further wok can preceded.

Typical Monoterpenes as Insecticides and Repellents against Stored Grain Pests.
Five monoterpenes naturally occurring in essential oils were tested for their insecticidal and repellent activities against the bruchid beetle Callosobruchus maculatus and the maize weevil Sitophilus zeamais. The monoterpenes were highly efficient as inducers of mortality or repellency against both insect species. They were more efficient in their fumigant activity against C. maculatus than aga...

Essential oil extracted from the leaves of Myrtle, Myrtus communis L. (Myrtaceae)was tested in vitro for volatile toxicity against two stored-product insects (Tribolium confusum and Callosobruchus maculatus). The chemical composition of the plant oil was examined by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The major oil components were α-pinene (10.4%), α- Terpineol (10.1%), linalool (9.0%...
متن کاملInsecticidal Activity of Castanospermum australe against stored Grain Pest Callosobruchus analis
The butanol fraction of the leaves of Castanospermum australe Cunn. & Fraser., was tested on adult Callosobruchus analis (pulse beetle) for its insecticidal activity by impregnation method at concentration of 3, 9, 48, 240 and 354 μg / cm. The result showed that the extract is toxic to Callosobruchus analis and the LD50 was found to be 38 g/cm . KeywordsCallosobruchus analis, Castanospermum au...
متن کاملToxic and repellent action of sugarcane bagasse-based lignin against some stored grain insect pests
Laboratory experiments were carried out to investigate the efficacy of sugarcane bagasse-based lignin against four stored grain insect pests viz., Tribolium castaneum, Tribolium confusum, Sitophilus oryzae and Callosobruchus maculatus. Mortality was assessed after 24, 48 and 72 h of treatment and LD50 values were calculated at the respective time intervals. It was observed that T. castaneum is ...

flour beetles, Tribolium confusum. Efficacy was assessed on wheat and maize at three dosages of spinosad dust formulation (corresponding to 0.0625, 0.1875 and 0.625ppm of active ingredient [AI] for S. oryzae and to 0.1875, 0.625 and 1.25 ppm of AI for T. confusum), alone or combined with SilicoSec at 150ppm for S. oryzae and 250 ppm for T. confusum. The mortality of S. oryzae exposed for 14d on...
